Reading and dreams

Reading and dreams

There’s a common misconception that it’s impossible to read things in dreams. It’s true, but not certainly impossible. My own experience, in all my lucid dreams, 99% of the time, I couldn’t read anything. The glyphs would morph or fight against my attention or simply appear garbled. If I try harder or try to read something for the second time, the dream would collapse. But rarely, once in a while, in that 1% of normal and lucid dreams, I could make up a few words and read a word or two in a dream and be able to remember it later. Now I’m just wondering what if the words or messages we see in our dream are just first order expression of mentalese.

Wait! Oh my goodness, it makes sense! That’s why I hear music so perfectly in my dreams but cannot read. Words are human construct. Music is something the universe already speaks.
