Tactile feedback in lucid dreams

Tactile feedback in lucid dreams

Been having some emotional days lately and my sleep has been erratic. But the past two days, my meds worked and I hit the bed early around 9 PM. With some impromptu wake back to bed I had some prolonged lucid dreams for the past two days.

It actually surprises me how my brain is able to sense the in-dream tactile surfaces when I’m in REM atonia. I’d sensed this before a lot, but just started paying more attention to it. A cold tile, the bare foot walk in the asphalt, the texture of a wall.

Read about this a bit and now it makes me wonder! This tactile vividness is possible because I (my brain) already know how a cold tile or the asphalt or the wall feels like. I’m now curious how the brain would act if I encountered a surface that’s completely new to it.

Guess I have to wait!
